"1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (KJV)
1. Satan who was formerly known as Lucifer, but rebelled against God and sought to be man's Messiah, falsely believed that he could control man to not sin by mere brute force. Of course, if he had his way, then Adam & Eve would still be in the Garden of Eden and we could not exist.
2. God also commanded man to be fruitful and multiply. This could not be achieved in the Garden of Eden. So yes, The Fall was foreknown by God and it was He who let Satan into the Garden.
3. Satan sought to destroy God's plan, and tempted Eve to partake of the fruit. He told her one truth: She would no longer be living in perfect ignorance if she ate of the fruit. She desired Wisdom.
4. He also told her she would be as the Gods, knowing good from evil. Notice the use of the word in its plural form. More than one. We know of at least Three separate and distinct Gods. That is, of course, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost.
5. Of course, as Paul says, we recognize God as the Father of our Spirits. Thus we call out "Abba" to the Father. While He was on Earth, Jesus also taught us about Our Father, who was in Heaven while His Only Begotten Son, was teaching us in His mortal ministry.
6. Satan seeks to replace both the Father and the Son, as well as the Holy Ghost as our god. Thus we have the battle between good and evil.
7. Notice that the followers of Satan operate through the use of Force (The Opposite of Free Will), Fear (The opposite of Faith), and Deception/Majick (The opposite of True Miracles which follow the faithful).
8. Obedience to God requires us to grow in faith and Trust His will while in our Fears so that we can witness real miracles in our life.
9. At the present time we live with more evil around us than at anytime in this earth's history. Through Faith, we can see through the deceivers and come to a knowledge of the Truth. Experiencing Great Evil grants us the privilege of finding Great Truths, as long as we don't succumb to the teachings of Satan and His followers.
10. The fact that God permits great evil is a testimony to His faith in His righteous children. He will give us the strength to resist and even overcome if we exercise Faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
11. If we deny Jesus Christ, then we deny truth and we end up being overcome by the adversaries of all truth. Thus, they gain power over us and become our temporary gods.
